Check out our conversation with WAC Commisioner Karl Benson in the podcast section.
In brief, he would not rule out that UT-San Antonio, Texas State, Sacramento State, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Portland State, Montana, and North Texas were in one way or another possibilities to join the conference.
He added that unless something happens quickly its likely that the conference plays with 8 teams in 2011. Also, he said he's confident that the WAC will continue a television contract with ESPN.

Talking to a couple scouts during Buster Posey's time in Fresno, I gathered some of the following.
1. They didn't seem to think that Posey was as far behind as a catcher as some have made it seem although others would contest that.
2. Its not hype - one scout said Posey is the best prospect he's seen in 2 years.
3. Another scout noted that Posey makes everything look easy. He handles pitches that AAA players struggle with for years - it will be interesting to see how many ABs he gets in September and if he does enough to convince the Giants he's an opening day catcher, not just hitter.
