Cody Kessler from Centennial: Kessler scored 47 points in the quarter-finals over Bullard 71-68 to advance to the semi-finals against Buchanan. Kessler scored 34 points in the 2nd half to bring back Centennial who was down 16 points heading into the 4th quarter.

#1 Clovis East (24-7) Valley Championship vs Buchanan 8pm Saturday
The T Wolves have a bye and beat #7 Clovis West65-36. CE beat Bakersfield in the semi-finals 73-68 to advance to the valley championship game and will play Buchanan. Robert Sandoval had 12 points/6 steals/ 7 assists and Kevin Bailey had 18 points. Buchanan and CE have split with each other this year. CE stays at #1 because of their non-league schedule was much tougher than Buchanan and CE beat Memorial. CE beat CW 3 times this year.
#2 Buchanan (22-6) Valley Championship vs Clovis East 8pm Saturday
The Bears play at home and beat Stockdale 59-57. With the score tied at 57 Sam Milhous tips in the winning shot just before the horn sounds for the win. Alex Fertig scores 29 for the Bears. Buchanan advances to the valley championship against Clovis East after beating Centennial in the semi-finals 79-71. Jackson Carbajal is back and scores 20 and Sam Melhous also puts in 20. Buchanan will be playing for their 1st valley championship in school history on Saturday night!
#3 Centennial Hawks (19-11) Lost at Buchanan 79-71 Semi-finals
The Golden Hawks travel to Bullard for a quarter-final matchup and beat the Knights 71-68 to advance to the semi-finals against Buchanan on Tuesday. Cody Kessler had a game to remember by scoring 47 points in the win. The Hawks were down by 16 points heading into the 4th quarter and Kessler scores 34 points in the 2nd half for the comeback win. This was a rematch against Bullard when Bullard won at Centennial 73-70 back on January 5th. The last time Kessler played at Buchanan was in the football playoffs and Centennial came away with the win. This time Kessler comes away with a loss at Buchanan 79-71 in the semi-finals. Kessler scores 37 and now Kessler can get the football out again!!
#4 Bakersfield Drillers (19-8) Lost at Clovis East 73-68 Semi-finals
The Drillers win the SEYL championship and get a #6 seed in the division 1 playoffs. The Drillers get a first round bye and travels to Central on Thursday night and wins in overtime 91-88 to advance to the semi-finals at Clovis East. Tim Billingsley scores 24 in the overtime win and Alfonso Jackson adds 19. The Drillers lose in the semi-finals at Clovis East 73-68. Alfonso Jackson scores 21 in the loss.
#5 Central Grizzlies (21-6) Lost to Bakersfield in OT 91-88 Quarter-finals
Central gets beat at home on Thursday against Bakersfield 91-88 in overtime. Central who lost last year in the valley championship game to Edison was playing better than anybody until the loss at home to Buchanan the last league game and the quarter-finals. Rocky Brown scores 29 and Anthony Trammell scores 28 points in the loss.
#6 Ridgeview Wolf Pack (24-5) Valley Championship vs Hoover 4pm Sat
Ridgeview wins at home in the quarter-finals over Tehachapi 70-52 to advance to the semi-finals against Golden Valley. Evans scores 27 in the win. Ridgeview has played Golden Valley twice this year and has smoked them both times. 78-38 back on Dec 9th and 73-41 on Dec 21st in the Garces Tournament. The Pack beat up on Selma 72-34 to advance to the 2nd round. The Wolf Pack has now won 8 in a row after beating Golden Valley 58-48 to advance to the valley finals against Hoover at 4pm Saturday. Kaylin Evans scores 15 points and 12 big rebounds and Robert Roberts scores 16 in the win.
#7 Memorial Panthers (24-6) Valley Championship vs Liberty 8pm Fri
The Panthers receive the #1 seed in division 2 playoffs after beating Tulare 68-51 back on December 9th. The Panthers win the NYL and get a bye in the first round. The Panthers beat Redwood in the quarter-finals 67-45. Bryce Martinho scores 29 in the win. MacCauley Stahowski scores 15 and Colon Stover scores 18 and in the semi-final win over Garces 70-46 and Memorial advances to the Friday night valley championship game when the Panthers take on Liberty of Bakersfield at 8pm. The Panthers have now won 9 in a row.
#8Hoover Patriots (21-9) Valley Championship vs Liberty 4pm Sat
Hoover plays at home against #15 Granite Hills and wins 69-24 to advance to the quarter-finals and plays at home against Chavez and wins 67-53. Dupree Hull scores 22 in the win. The Patriots win in double overtime at home over Mt Whitney in the semi-finals 80-78 to advance to the valley championship on Saturday at 4pm against Ridgeview. Dupree Hull score 21 in the win.
#9Liberty Patriots (20-8) Valley Championship vs Memorial 8pm Fri
Liberty gets a bye and plays West Bakersfield and wins 58-57 in a great game. The Pats are playing their best basketball and travels to at Tulare in the semi-finals and wins a big game over the red hot Redskins 52-47 to advance to the valley title game at 8pm on Friday night. Sam Marcus scores 14 in the win.
#10Tulare Redskins (24-4) Lost to Liberty 51-47 Semi-finals
TU has won the East Yosemite league title. Tulare has now won 16 in a row after beating Hanford in the quarter-finals 59-38. Jordan Searby scores 18 and Marquees Wilson adds 17 in the win. Tulare advances to the semi-finals at home against the red hot Liberty Patriots and gets beat 52-47 at home to end the Redskins season. Marquees Wilson scores 15 in the loss.
#11 Bullard Knights (18-9) Lost to Centennial 71-68 Quarter-finals
The Knights get a bye and play the #5 seed Centennial on Thursday night and gets beat 71-68. Bullard had a 16 point lead heading into the 4th quarter and got tight and lost. Jajuan Hammond scored 21 points and hurt his finger in the 3rd quarter and never returned to the game and Bullard was never the same team. The Knights finished the season as the CMAC champions.
#12 Clovis West (17-9) Lost to Clovis East 65-36 Quarter-finals
The Golden Eagles beat Edison 67-56 on Tuesday night to advance to Thursday at Clovis East. CW played a perfect game against a much bigger team. Derek Walters comes up big with 28 points. CW travels to Clovis East and gets beat in the quarter-finals 65-36. CW was 0-3 this year against CE.
#13 Stockdale Mustangs (19-8) Lost at Buchanan 59-57 Quarter-finals
The Mustangs beat the Clovis Cougars on Tuesday night 56-51. Jordan Burris scores 25 points in the win. The last time Stockdale played the Cougars was back on December 29 and lost at Clovis 66-55. Stockdale travels to Buchanan for a quarter-final matchup and gets beat with a tip in with no time left on the clock 59-57. Jordan Burris scores 27 in the loss.
#14 Edison Tigers (17-10) Lost at Clovis West 67-56 1st round
The Tigers tie Bullard for the CMAC title but lose on the tie breaker since they lost twice to the Knights. The defending valley champion Tigers lost to CW 67-56 to end the Tiger season.
#15 Garces Rams (20-10) Lost at Memorial Semi-finals
The defending division 2 champions play at home against #12 Monache and win 75-42. Lemoore beat the Rams 73-68 in the championship of the Poly W. Tournament. The Rams get a rematch against Lemoore and wins 69-62 in the quarter-finals. Chris Dixon scores 14 and grabs 20 rebounds and the Rams travel to Memorial for the semi-finals on for the Holy Hoops game and gets crushed 70-46 and the 2009 champs will not be heading to Selland Arena.
#16 Golden Valley Bulldogs (18-8) Lost at Ridgeview 58-48 Semi-finals
GV beats El Diamante 75-58 in the 1st round. GV advances to the quarter-finals and plays at home against Washington Union and wins 68-57 to advance to the semi-finals. Golden Valley lost in the semi-finals at Ridgeview 58-68.
#17 Mt. Whitney Pioneers (20-10) Lost at Memorial Semi-finals
MW plays at home on Tuesday in the first round against #11 Porterville and wins 67-51 to advance to the quarter-finals. The Pioneers gets their 20th win of the season by beating Hanford West 63-50. Jason Carmichael scores 24 points. Mt Whitney advances to the semi-finals at Hoover and loses in double overtime 80-78 in a fantastic game. Carmichael scores 23 in the loss.
#18 Lemoore Tigers (21-7) Lost to Garces 69-62 Quarter-finals
The Tiger get a bye in the first round and play the #5 seed Garces Rams and lose 69-62. The last time the Tigers played the Rams was back on New Year’s Eve and the Tigers won 73-68 in the Poly Wilhelmsen tourney championship game. The Tigers end the year as the West Yosemite league champs.
#19Hanford West Huskies (21-7) Lost to MW 63-50 Quarter-finals
The defending D3 champs Huskies beat Independence on Tuesday night 58-49. The Huskies advanced to the quarter-finals and plays at home against Mt Whitney and gets beat 63-50. Rodney Webster scores 24 in the loss.
#20 CVC Cavaliers (24-4) Valley Championship vs 4pm Fri
CVC wins the Central Sequoia league championship and is seeded #1 in division 5 playoffs. The defending D5 champs will win the Valley again this year and start with a bye in the first round. They crush Clovis Christian on Thursday in the quarterfinals 74-27. Grant Verhoeven scores 23 in the win. CVC advance to the semi-finals at home against Laton and puts a beating on Laton 73-32 to advance to the D5 valley championship against Mission Prep. Grant Verhoeven and Derek Van Grrow each scores 22 in the win.
#21West Vikings (19-9) Lost to Liberty 58-57 Quarter-finals
The Vikings plays at home on Tuesday in the first round and beat East Bakersfield Blades 67-43. The Vikings lose to Liberty 58-57 in the quarter-finals to end the season. Korey Thieleke scores 26 points in the loss.
#22 Redwood Rangers (16-12) Lost at Memorial 67-45 Quarter-finals
The Rangers beat Madera in the 1st round 70-60 to advance to the quarter-finals. The Rangers lose at Memorial 67-45 in the quarter-final to end their season. Donald Lee scores 167in the loss.
#23 Clovis Cougars (10-16) Lost at Stockdale 56-51, 1st Round
The Cougars end the year with a 9 game losing streak after a loss at Stockdale 56-51.
#24 Sierra Chieftains (21-6) Valley Championship vs Kingsburg 12pm Sat
The Chieftains play at home on Tuesday in the first round against the #16 Fowler Red Cats and win 84-60. Sierra plays at home in the quarter-finals against Caruthers and wins 45-41. Brandon Bill lights it up with 26 points. Sierra advances to the semi-finals at home against Taft and wins 76-56 to advance to the valley championship on Saturday at high noon!!
#25 Tehachapi Warriors (21-8) Lost to Ridgeview 70-52 Quarter-finals
The SS league champs travel to #8 Frontier on Tuesday for a first round matchup and get a big win 73-70. Tehachapi advances to the quarter-finals and travels to Ridgeview and gets beat 70-52 to end the season.

Erykah Washington from Redwood: Senior Washington cemented her status as the best player in Tulare County as she scores a career high 43 points in the big win over Clovis 67-57. Washington also had 15 rebounds and Clovis had trouble all night trying to matchup guarding Washington.

#1 Hanford Bullpups (27-3) Valley Championship vs Yosemite 6pm Fri
The defending D 2 champions beat up Sunnyside 89-30 to advance to the semi-finals against Garces. Hanford is the West Yosemite League Champions and now has won 46 straight WYL games. Against Sunnyside this was the 22nd time this year that Hanford had to have a running clock in the 4th quarter with such a big lead. Madison Parrish and Taylor Spikes each scored 16 points. Hanford has now won 17 in a row and has broken the state record for 3-pointers with 346. The old record was 338 set by Pinewood-Los Altos Hills back in 2003. The Bullpups had 18 3-pointers in the win over Garces 94-56 to advance to another valley championship game against Yosemite.
#2 Clovis West (23-4) Valley Championship vs Stockdale 6pm Sat
CW beat up Centennial in the quarterfinals 90-31. Clovis West has won 55 straight TRAC games. Bri Orlich continues her awesome season with 25 points. The Golden Eagles hang on and beat Edison in the semi-finals to advance to the valley championship game and a rematch against Stockdale. Clovis West brings in a 15 game winning streak into Saturday night’s game. CW lost last year 70-60. In 2007 CW won 66-59 and in 2008 CW won 87-50.
#3 Yosemite Badgers (29-2) Valley Championship vs Hanford 6pm Fri
Yosemite beat Sanger 62-29 to advance to the semi-finals. Sydnee Fipps leads the way with 29 points. The Badgers have won the North Sequoia League Championship. Yosemite will play for the valley title after beating Redwood 63-43 in the semi-finals and will play at 6pm Friday night. Yosemite brings in an 18 game winning streak against the big bad Hanford Bullpups.
#4 Stockdale Mustangs (27-3) Valley Championship vs CW 6pm Sat
The defending division1 champion Stockdale Mustangs beat Liberty 77-41 to advance to the semi-finals at home against the Buchanan Bears. Kinder scores 19 points and had 8 steals in the win. Stockdale has won 51 straight SWYL league games. The Mustangs take apart the Buchanan Bears 93-63 and the defending D1 champs get another shot at CW on Saturday. The Mustangs bring in a 14 game winning streak against the Golden Eagles. Jalei Kinder (FSU) and Melissa Sweat (San Diego St) get another shot at CW. This is the 4th straight years that Stockdale is taking on CW for the valley.
#5 Garces Rams (27-3) Lost at Hanford 94-56 Semi-finals
The Rams beat Monache 58-46 to advance to semi-finals at Hanford. Last year the Rams lost to Hanford in the valley championship 73-44. The Rams are the Southeast Yosemite league champs. The Rams 24 game winning streak comes to an end in the semi-finals at Hanford 94-56.
#6 Buchanan Bears (21-7) Lost at Stockdale 93-63 Semi-finals
The Bears get a #3 seed heading into the division 1playoffs. The Bears get a bye in the first round and win at home over Clovis East 56-51 to advance to the semi-finals at Stockdale. Corinne DenHartog scores 18 points for the Bears. The Bears get beat up at Stockdale 93-63. DenHartog scores 19 in the loss.
#7 Corcoran Panthers (23-5) Valley Championship vs MP 10am Sat
Tabitha Torres leads the Panthers over Washington Union in the quarter-finals 63-32 to advance to the semi-finals at home against Sierra. The Panthers beat Avenal 67-29 to advance to the quarter-finals. The Panthers win the East Sequoia league title. Corcoran now has a 15 game winning streak after beating Sierra 51-39 and will be a big favorite to win the D4 title over Mission Prep.
#8 Edison Tigers (22-6) Lost at Clovis West 71-65 Semi-final
The Tigers have dominated the CMAC by winning all 10 games. The Tigers get a first round bye and wins at home over #5 seed Bakersfield on Friday night in the quarter-finals 57-49 to advance to the semi-finals at Clovis West. Brittany Sims scores 13 in the win. The Tigers started off down 17-0 and the Tigers stormed back in the semi-finals at Clovis West and cut the lead to 3 (63-60) with 1:47 left to go but fell short and the final score was 71-65.
#9 Bakersfield Drillers (23-6) Lost to Edison 57-49 in the Quarter-finals
The Drillers get a bye in the first round and travels Edison for a quarter-final matchup and gets beat 57-49. Emily McCullah and Jamia Henry each scores 12 in the loss.
#10 Ridgeview Wolf Pack (22-8) Valley Championship vs Frontier 2pm Sat
Ridgeview plays at home against Dinuba and wins 68-35. Ridgeview advances to the quarterfinals against Selma and wins 62-42 to advance to the semi-finals. Freshman Erica McCall scores 36 points in the win over Selma. Ridgeview beats Tulare Western in the semi-finals 71-56 to advance to an all south valley D3 title game against Frontier. Both teams have split this year. Ridgeview lost at home to Frontier back on Jan 19th 55-53 and won at Frontier on Feb 11th 65-55.
#11 Frontier Titans (23-7) Valley Championship vs Ridgeview 2pm Sat
Frontier beats defending champs Roosevelt Rough Riders and wins 61-51 to advance to the quarterfinals. Frontier beats Tehachapi in the quarter-finals 56-48 and plays at home against Clovis North in the semi-finals and holds off the Broncos 55-50 to advance to an all south valley D3 title game.
#12 Memorial Panthers (28-8) Lost to Mission Prep 50-43 Semi-finals
The Panthers beat Woodlake 70-33 in the 1st round. Robin Draper scores 19 in the win. The Panthers have won 15 straight games after beating Kingsburg in the quarterfinals 54-50 to advance to the semi-finals at home against Mission Prep. Toni Anaya scores 16 points. The NYL champs 15 game winning streak comes crashing down in the loss at home against Mission Prep 50-43 in the semi-finals.
#13Clovis East T Wolves (12-15) Lost at Buchanan 56-51 Quarter-finals
The T Wolves received a #6 seed and a bye in the first round of the division 1 playoffs. The T Wolves stay in the TRAC and travel to Buchanan and lose to the Bears in the quarter-finals 56-51. Erikka Banks has a great year and ends up with 24 points in the loss.
#14 Redwood Rangers (18-11) Lost at Yosemite 63-43 Semi-finals
The Rangers beat Clovis in the quarter-finals 67-57. The Rangers advance to the semi-finals and they will travel in the mountains and take on Yosemite. Player of the week Erykah Washington scores 43 points for the Rangers. The Rangers lose in the semi-finals to Yosemite 63-43.
#15 Clovis Cougars (23-8) Lost to Redwood 67-57 in the Quarter-finals
The Cougars get a #3 seed over graces and will receive a bye in the first round. The Cougars lose at home to Redwood 67-57. The Cougars had a great year and end the season with 23 wins. Brianna Watson scores 18 in the loss.
#16Monache Marauders (20-4) Lost at Garces 58-46 in the Quarter-finals
Monache travels to Garces and gets beat in the quarter-finals 58-46. Monache finishes the year as the East Yosemite league champions.
#17Clovis North Broncos (20-9) Lost at Frontier 55-50 Semi-finals
The new kids on the block beat Delano 68-55 in the first round. Rebecca Waller scores 19 and the Broncos travels to Porterville in a quarter-finals and wins their 20th game of the season 58-37. Chay Coffman scores 16 in the win. The Broncos advance to their 1st semi-final game in school history and lose at Frontier. The Broncos come up short in the semi-finals 55-50. Rebecca Waller scores 22 in the loss.
#18 Tulare Western Mustangs (20-12) Lost at Ridgeview 71-56 Semi-finals
TW should have gotten a home game in the first round instead TW travels to #3 Hanford West and beats the Huskies 54-53 to advance to the quarter-finals. Micolette Pena hits the winning shot with 41 seconds left and TW holds on over HW. TW is really proving to everybody that they are not a #14 seed after beating Independence in the quarter-finals 61-52 to advance to the semi-finals on Wednesday at Ridgeview. TW gets beat in the semi-finals by Ridgeview 71-56.
#19 Liberty Patriots (18-11) Lost at Stockdale in the Quarter-finals 77-41
Liberty beats Madera 49-37 in the 1st round. Liberty gets beat at Stockdale in the quarter-finals 77-41.
#20 Centennial Hawks (17-16) Lost at Clovis West 90-31 Quarter-finals
The Golden Hawks boys travel to Bullard on Thursday for a quarter final matchup and win and the Golden Hawk girls play at home and beat Bullard in a first round 49-37 to advance to the quarter-finals. Clovis West beats The Golden Hawks 90-31 in the quarter-finals.
#21 Madera Coyotes (12-14) Lost at Liberty 59-42 First Round
The Coyotes get a #10 seed and will travel to Bakersfield lose to #7 Liberty in the first round 59-42. Next year the young Coyotes will be playing in the CMAC.
#22 Independence Falcons (23-7) Lost to Tulare W. 61-52 Quarter-finals
The Falcons get a #6 seed in the division 3 playoffs and beats Arvin 59-42 in the first round. The Falcons lose at home in the quarter-finals to red hot Tulare Western 61-52.
#23 Sierra Chieftains (21-8) Lost at Corcoran 51-39 Semi-finals
Sierra beats Mendota in the 1st round 60-21 to advance. Paige Brown scores 12 in the win. Sierra beats McFarland in the quarterfinals 45-43. Brown stays hot and scores 17 and Sierra advances to the semi-finals and travels to Corcoran and loses 51-39.
#24 McFarland Cougars (20-5) Lost at Sierra 45-43 Quarter-finals
The Cougars play at home against Bakersfield Christian in the first round and win 66-52 to advance to the quarter-finals. The Cougars lose a tough one at Sierra 45-43 in the quarter-finals. The Cougars are the East Sierra League Champs and had a great year with a 20 win season.
#25 Hanford West Huskies (19-11) Lost at home to TW 54-53, 1st round
The Huskies thought they would get a #3 seed and that is what happens. HW plays at home against #14seed Tulare Western and gets beat 54-53. Jenn Kuenning scores 14 in the loss.TW won 2 out of 3 against HW this year.
