Our Mission:
Our goal is to teach our student/athletes the proper techniques in pitching, hitting, and fielding, by maximizing the skills they already have. Our Program also provides its members with the mental make-up and preparation to have success on and off the field. Team Avenue has the utmost respect and professionalism towards the game and expects the same from its members. At Team Avenue "It’s The Game of Life" and we create opportunity for our entire student athletes to get to the next level.
Thomari Story-Harden begins his 1st season as Director of Team Avenue, a student/athlete developmental program. In their first season he has arranged instructional college camps/visits, travel baseball, exposure tournaments, and mentorship programs.
A local standout at El Cerrito High, Story-Harden starred in football and baseball. He was drafted in the 8th Round of the 1998 Ametuer Draft by the Los Angles Dodgers. He played with the Dodgers farm systems for 6 years. In addition to playing for the Dodgers, Thomari also played 3 years of Independent Baseball in which he made the Frontier League All Star Team in 2005.
Story-Harden is the manager of the Goodwill Series SSK Team that travels to Australia. This is also Thomari’s 1st year as a scout for the Florida Marlins. While in Australia he and 4 other scouts are able to evalute talent of an extended amount of time. Hands on training and development are esstential in developing talent. Thomari has been able to learn form the guru of exposure tournaments, Mr. Bob Williams. Because of the Area Code games and Goodwill Series, Story-Harden was able to create his “Avenue of Success”.
Once his pro career ended, Thomari re-focused his commitment to giving back to the youth of the Central Valley (California) area by starting the Team Avenue Baseball Academy and Avenue Outreach, a non-profit baseball school. On top of tutoring players on the field, Story-Harden assisted in placing youth in college at all levels of collegiate play. His philosophy when working with young adults is to stress academics and family before athletics.
